Matter Utilities runs on iOS 17.6 and later, and works with any Matter-certified device — lights, plugs, sensors, thermostats and more — over Wi-Fi and Thread, with Matter 1.4 support.
No hub is required for testing. The app commissions devices directly over Wi-Fi or Thread (via an iOS-compatible border router) so you can pair and inspect straight from your iPhone.
